Frequently asked questions
What you ask us most about the pieces, shipping, and caring for wood and stone.
The pieces
Is every lamp really unique?
Yes. We work with wood and natural stone, materials that never repeat. The grain, tone and texture of your lamp will differ from the photograph, and from any other piece. It is what comes of working with living material.
Will the piece I receive look like the one in the photo?
It will be the same piece in shape, dimensions and finish, but the pattern of the material will vary. The photographs show the model, not the exact pattern of the grain.
Do you make bespoke pieces?
Yes. We have no fixed list of customisations and no minimum order: each commission is looked at on its own. Write to us at info@tantolamps.com telling us what you need — dimensions, material, finish — and we will give you a price and a lead time.
One thing to bear in mind: pieces made to your measurements fall outside the 14-day right of withdrawal, because they are made expressly for you (art. 103.c of Spanish RLD 1/2007). We will remind you before confirming the order.
Which bulb do I need?
None: the light is included in all our pieces. What changes is how:
Wall lights have an integrated LED: there is no bulb to change, the light source is part of the piece. What you do choose when buying is the colour temperature, between 3000 K, 4000 K and 6000 K.
Pendants and table and floor lamps take a replaceable bulb, included in the shipment. We supply it at 4000 K, and they accept 3000 to 6000 K if you ever want to change it.
A tip: the warmer the light, the more amber the wood becomes and the more the grain shows. Cool light flattens the material, but defines better if you are going to read or work underneath it.
The specifications of each piece have the detail.
Is installation complicated?
No. The piece arrives ready to connect, with everything needed to fit it. No electrician and no special installation required.
Care and maintenance
How do I clean the wood and the stone?
With a soft dry cloth. Avoid water, abrasive products and alcohol-based cleaners: wood and natural stone are living materials and damage easily.
Can I put it in a bathroom or a kitchen?
Yes. Our pieces cope well with the ambient humidity of a bathroom or a kitchen.
What they must not take is the weather: they are not outdoor lamps. No direct sun, which fades wood and stone over time, and no rain or watering falling on the piece.
Will the colour change over time?
Yes, slightly. Wood evolves with light and with the years, usually gaining depth of tone. It is part of the life of the material.
Orders and shipping
How long will my order take?
Every piece is made by hand, so the time depends on the model. As a guide, production takes around 4 working days and transport has to be added to that. You can check it in the shipping policy.
Where do you ship to?
To the 27 countries of the European Union, and shipping is always free, with no minimum order. In the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, taxes or duties may apply on arrival, payable by whoever receives the order.
How can I pay?
By credit or debit card, through Stripe, in a secure payment environment. We do not store your card details. If your browser offers them, you can also pay with Link or Amazon Pay.
Can I track my order?
Yes. When your order leaves the workshop you receive an email from the carrier with the tracking number.
Returns and warranty
Can I return a piece?
Yes. You have 14 calendar days from receiving it to withdraw from the purchase, with no need to give a reason. Write to us and we will tell you how to proceed.
What if it arrives damaged?
Check the parcel when you receive it. If there is visible damage, note it on the carrier’s delivery note and tell us with photographs: we will take care of it.
What warranty do they have?
Every piece carries the 3-year legal guarantee for new goods. Variations in grain and tone inherent to the material are not considered a defect.
